Located in Loire valley. Château de Charnizay was the residence of The Count Montesquiou, a literary dandy who Proust counted as a friend and inspiration. Bucolic but Bacchanalian. Which is kind of how the wedding will be.

If you are coming from the USA, then we suggest you fly into Paris, Charles De Gulle. From Paris there are two options to reach the venue.
Option One
Rent a car in Paris and drive approx. 3.5 hours to Charnizay or surrounding villages / towns of your stay. French roads are flat and fast but you will need to navigate Paris traffic.
Option Two
Take a train to Tours (approx. 2 hours and ten minutes). You can catch this directly from the airport, it operates many times a day. If you are stopping in Paris you can catch the train from Paris-Montparnasse rather than go back to the airport.
These rides are a really beautiful way to see the country side while relaxing on the train. Very European if you haven’t done it! Note there are fast trains and slower trains, so check the journey before you buy the ticket.
When you arrive in Tours you can rent a car and drive approx. 45 min. – 1 hour to Charnizay or surrounding villages / towns of your stay.
If renting a car in Tours we recommend disembarking at the stop prior to Tours Central, St Piere De Corp as this has a car rental place in the station.
